Dr. Caitlin Eleftherion completed her undergraduate education at Fordham University where she received a BS in Biological Sciences. She then attended the Illinois College of Optometry where she graduated cum laude. During her optometric education, Dr. Eleftherion received numerous accolades for her dedication to the field of optometry. This included the Luckhardt Memorial Scholarship and the Good-lite Pediatric award for excellence in pediatric optometry and vision therapy. She was also inducted into the Gold Key Optometric Society in Leadership and both Beta Sigma Kappa and Tomb and Key Honor fraternities.
After optometry school, Dr. Eleftherion completed a one year residency in Vision Therapy and Rehabilitation at the Raymond J. Greenwald Rehabilitation Center at SUNY College of Optometry. Her particular areas of interest during residency were vision related learning problems and head trauma rehabilitation.
Dr. Eleftherion was awarded the Martin Birnbaum award for excellence in Behavioral Optometry, awarded to only one resident per class. She also served as the National Resident Liaison for the College of Optometrists in Vision Development.
Dr. Eleftherion is an Associate of the College of Optometrists in Vision Development and is currently pursuing fellowship. While she is very dedicated to vision therapy and rehabilitation, she is also very involved in contact lens fittings and the management and treatment of ocular disease.
